Consults
The initial consult is approximately 45-55 minutes. Subsequent consults are approximately 20-30 minutes.
Telehealth
A Telehealth consultation has a similar format to an in-clinic appointment. Standard time and fees apply, as do private health fund rebates and Medicare rebates if you have an EPC.
After you have made a Telehealth booking, we simply email a link for you to click on at the time of your appointment. You will receive this link again in your appointment reminder email. Or if you prefer a phone consult, do not link on the link, and wait for Jocelyn’s call.
If you choose video link Jocelyn can still see you, discuss your concerns and provide recommendations. Throughout the consultation Jocelyn will email handouts for you to refer so you will not miss out on any important written information which may be helpful.
Benefits of Telehealth
If you live away from the clinic, you can still get the advice you need. Also, if you are concerned about travel at this time or are feeling unwell, it allows you to keep your appointment with us.
Payment
Fees are payable on the day. There is a range of payment options including cash, Eftpos and credit card (Bankcard, MasterCard or Visa). HiCaps facility is available and if you have private health insurance rebates may apply.
Private Health Fund Rebates
Many health funds provide rebates for dietetics. These vary depending on your policy and level of cover so please check with your provider. HICAPS is available which means you may be able to claim your rebate at the time of payment.
Medicare Rebates
With some chronic conditions your GP may refer you through a Team Care Plan or Enhanced Patient Care Plan (EPC) and this means you will be elibible for a rebate through the Medicare Plus initiative. Nutrition Solutions does not bulk bill for these services, except under special circumstances. You will need to pay for the consultation in full then approach Medicare for rebate. Currently the Medicare rebate for dietitian consultation is $54.60 per session. Discuss your eligibility with your doctor.
Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA)
Nutrition Solutions is a provider for Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA). If you are DVA eligible, please see your GP for a referral.
